Initiated in 2015, T2S' Path to Automotive Design effort supports the "Art" in S.T.E.A.M. This program provides a conduit for our partner schools to introduce the option of automobile development to students passionate about their professional future in product, ergonomic, graphic, CGI, animation and style design. Connect with Us to learn how your school may participate.

T2S graciously thanks Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' Ralph Gilles, Carly Edgemon and Joe Dehner for their commitment to student excellence.

Launched in 2013, the FCA US Product Design team created its Drive for Design contest as an innovative way to educate young artists about careers in automotive design. Starting in Detroit, Drive for Design has grown to become a national contest that has awarded talented students with prizes and rare opportunities to help further develop their design skills. The following film provides a very informative look inside FCA's US Product Design Office...

Marcus Roberts hails from Jacksonville, Florida. His mother, who sang gospel in their church was an extreme influence on his love of music. Unfortunately, cataracts and glaucoma cost Marcus his sight at the tender age of five, however, this change to his ability to sense the world did not stop him from teaching himself to play piano. By age 21, Marcus had studied formally and was on tour with Wynton Marsalis. After six years on the road, Marcus charted a new course and started his own band. With the advent of the famed Marcus Roberts Trio, he abandoned tradition and created a space for drum and bass to share equal time with his independent left and right hand style of play...the beauty of which sounds like two pianists performing together. The result of Marcus’ commitment to his art is that he is a world renowned performer, composer and award-winning sponsor to numerous jazz musicians across the generations!

For the second consecutive year, T2S 5G, our elementary school engagement program, partners with the Aquarium of the Pacific to introduce marine ecosystems to nearly 100 fifth-grade students at Delores Moye Elementary School. Using live video-conferencing technology, students in Illinois are able to ask Aquarium marine biologists in California everything about the deep blue sea! What’s inside a coral reef? What does a sting ray mouth look like? Is an eel a fish or is it really something else? And how sharp are shark teeth? There’s nothing like the ocean at sunrise; and that is exactly what students get to see…as the Aquarium’s live cameras check in on colorful sea plants and animals as they wake to a new day; along with the stealthy creatures inhibiting the mysterious Shark Lagoon! Three 45 minute sessions are led by T2S’ A. Doss with the assistance of our Junior Executives and T2S student volunteers.

But we didn't stop there...our mission demands that we work to create opportunities for students to pursue their dreams. To make this happen, T2S and FCA are partnering to give creative minds a head start via our Path to Automotive Design initiative and with many thanks to FCA's Drive for Design competition!

*We thank our great friends at the nineNetwork and the Missouri History Museum for their on-going support and advocacy.

On March 5th of 2015, students met Mr. Ralph V. Gilles, now Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' ("FCA") Head of Global Design. Ralph gets the last word on the look and feel of the newest Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Fiat, Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler and RAM vehicles. From Ralph, we gained valuable insight into the leadership required to thrive in fierce global marketplaces. To show students how concepts become production vehicles, Illinois and Missouri FCA dealers provided nearly $250,000 worth of exhibit vehicles.
